The void – dark night of the soul

abstract painting representing the void through shadow work

The void — also called the dark night of the soul — is when everything starts to fall away. Your identity. Your beliefs. Your sense of self. It feels like losing everything.

But something much bigger is happening beneath the surface.

This is where transformation begins.

The void can be a frightening state because you are literally losing your identity — and that fear is not without reason. When something new is forming inside you, the old version of you has to leave. There is no room for both.

The void is the most critical state in your entire life. It is hard on the whole system the first time it appears. And it will appear again — many times. But as you become more conscious of it, the experience gets easier. The panic begins to melt away. You learn to recognise it for what it is.

Are you in a state where you can’t define your own identity? Where you can’t explain what’s happening but you know something is shifting?

I know exactly how that feels. I have been there — and I still visit that place from time to time. What’s changed is that I’ve learned to live as an observer of that state rather than a victim of it.

If you want to learn how to observe your own state — to understand what’s actually happening when everything feels like it’s falling apart — I invite you to book your free Heart Liberation Session. I will ask you four questions. The understanding of your own mind and body starts with understanding your own heart.
